In the past 2 years, we've seen wild swings in news-driven volatility. If a new move starts, you want to know if it's news driven or not, so you can have some sort of expectation as to how far the market will go. We have now built real-time filterable real time audio and text news into daytradr.
To Access Real Time news, click the widget icon, then "Real Time News". Note - for these features to work best, it's better to have Google Chrome installed and set as your Default Browser. Click here for instructions here for how to download Chrome and make it you default browser.
Note that the news is real time for subscribers to Journalytix or those that have a Live Trading Subscription. For others, there is a 15 minute delay on the news. Still - it's a great way to catch up 'pre-market' even for those without the live license. News will update automatically and read the news to you if you prefer not to keep an eye on the window.
We show real time news releases for the day from over 50 news outlets such as Bloomberg, Reuters, Zacks etc. You can decide which countries news stories should appear on the Account Settings page in Journalytix if you click the . button on the main platform window and go to account settings.
Click the icon to enable/disable audio news reader. Check out the section on News Filtering.
Click to get a description of the news release or to read the full news story.
Click the button to enable/disable real time updates.
News can be filtered. Filters allow us to see just the news relevant to us. For instance, Trump tweets are currently very influential and able to move the market, as are comments from Angela Merkel and Jean-Claude Junker. Then there's more generic terms like "Oil", "Dollar", "ECB" we might want on our radar all the time. You can add the search terms in the box above the news in the Day Overview.
You can also click for a larger window to enter more terms, like this:
Here's a good set of filters to get you started:
Federal Reserve,Trump,ECB,Brexit,Dollar,USD,Sterling,JPY,EUR/USD,GBP,S&P,index,interest rate, junker,Oil,Crude,WTI,Brent,Bomb,Terrorist,China trade,GBP/USD,Crude Oil, GBP/USD, GBPUSD, FOMC, Merkel, industrial production, retail sales, home sales, housing starts, cosumer confidence, PMI, Housing Prices, GDP, Jobless Claims, Trade balance, manufacturing index, unemployment rate, personal spending, personal income, Retail Sales, Building permits, crude inventories, housing starts, consumer sentiment, manufacturing employment, vehicle sales, factory orders, construction spending
After changing filters click the refresh button next to the search term box.
Terms must be separated with a comma.
Terms can be one or more words between the comma, like Federal Reserve.
Your filters will be remembered, so there's no need to enter them each time you use the day overview.
As new news comes in, you will only see the news that matches your filters.
News audio reader will also only read out the news that matches your filters.
The following "Stop Words" will be ignored by the search:
