Note that the LTF Charts in daytradr are focused on lower timeframes (below daily) and in the next phase, we will bring in additional timeframes and a new heatmap. Our charts are like the rest of our product - designed to work "out the box" with minimum fuss and setup. The following video gives an overview of the charts, what to expect and key features.
Our charting application is partly based on libraries we lease from a specialist company. It comes with a number of pre-built industry standard chart types. We do feel that more recently developed charts that combine price, order flow and volume do have significant merit. With that in mind, we created our own version of the following indicators that did not come with the charting library:
•JT CSI - Cumulative Sheep Index
•JT FootPrint - Footprint Charts
•JT Market Profile - Traditional Market Profile
Important Notes on Charts
In various sections in this part of the manual, we will explain our reasons for implementing various charting components. This is not meant to be a lecture on "our way being the only way", rather - we just want to explain why we did the things we have. We don't pretend to have all the answers and there are likely things we wouldn't advocate that work for people.
For the first 10 years of Jigsaw's existence, our execution and order flow tools did not include traditional charting. This was intentional as we wanted a product that got traders focused on the tools our partners in the professional world focus on. Charts were implemented in daytradr a response to rising data costs and the way exchanges are moving to have traders with multiple applications recognized as professionals (with much higher data fees).
The current version of charting is focused on intraday, time based charts. This will be followed with additional intraday charts (range, tick based) and then we'll add in the higher timeframe charts - daily and weekly. So far, there has been very low demand for these higher timeframe charts.
This section discusses all charts EXCEPT the Auction Vista (heatmap) chart. Click here for information running the Auction Vista Charts.
